Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
